Matt Burns
Matt Burns is the Dean of Students at the University of Rochester. For six years prior to this he was the associate Dean of Students with duties including student counseling, student discipline, and identifying and planning interventions for students wrestling with personal crises. Before joining the University of Rochester, he spent 12 years working in residential life at the University of Hartford, five of those as director. Matt’s entire career has been spent in student affairs in higher education. He has taught classes in mediation and conflict resolution and has planned and presented workshops throughout the Northeast. Matt is native to Rochester and has two wonderful children.
