Kavitha Sitaram
Kavitha Sitaram is a Global Education Consultant and have worked to increase non-Eurocentric information in the K-12 school districts for 8 years now. She teaches mini-courses, organize events and most recently have worked with the Global Competence Committee at the Victor schools to launch a global certificate program for high school students. Kavitha has also worked with the BOCES Project Adept program as well as taught teacher-training sessions. The work she does is designed to promote knowledge of global facts, 21st century skills and the changing job market. Emphasis on awareness of new skills and requirements in college and the workplace has led to positive results. Through her courses, Kavitha hopes to help young people open up to differences among peoples, accept globalization and celebrate both.
Kavitha is currently married with 2 kids. She also had the pleasure of going through the college process with her daughter and saw her start her college career. This experience confirmed the need for global education among youngsters. Kavitha’s husband has been collecting Gandhi stamps for decades. Both of them continue to be very passionate about the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
