Originally from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Alex moved to Rochester with her mother at two years old. Her formative years were with Rochester City School District’s John Williams #5 School and School of the Arts. In 2010, she graduated from Alfred University with a BFA in Art and Design and promptly returned to her community in Rochester, excited to practice all she’d learned on her home turf. After serving two consecutive terms for Rochester AmeriCorps, she is eager to share her love of Solar Punk, reading, art, and social justice with students at Monroe High School through her work with the MK Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence.
