Interfaith Initiatives

Mohandas Gandhi believed in the equality of all religions. Although our differences appear to be substantial, in truth, all life has an underlying unity. In the words of Gandhi:
The rays of the sun are many through refraction. But they have the same source. I cannot, therefore, detach myself from the wickedest soul nor may I be denied identity with the most virtuous.
Here at the Gandhi Institute, we believe it is important for people of different religious backgrounds to interact with one another in a safe yet challenging way. The nature of God is ultimately mysterious, but we can encounter the mystery through dialogue, meditation and prayer. The Institute organizes interfaith dialogue banquets, regularly invites religious teachers to speak on campus, and offers the Gandhi Reading Room as a space for meditation and contemplation.
